Bicycle Pedestrian & Trail Master Plan

Groton’s updated Plan of Conservation and Development recommended preparation of a comprehensive trails master plan in response to citizen input and the Town’s considerable open space holdings. Kent + Frost was contracted by the Town to prepare a master plan that integrated trails, sidewalks and in-street bicycle facilities. Bicycle commuter routes were planned to connect destinations like schools, parks, commercial areas and neighborhoods utilizing bike lanes and multi-use trails. A Gap Analysis identified missing sidewalks and mapped needed segments.
