Mason’s Island LEED Residence
Stonington, Connecticut

The first LEED certified single family residence in Southeast CT was designed by the architect and landscape architect in close collaboration.  The building location and elevation was established on site to maximize views and match existing topography.  Energy efficient measures like LED lighting, and storm water recycling were incorporated into terraces and landscaping. Large existing boulders were incorporated into the design, imparting a strong sense of place.  Local building materials, native plants and drought tolerant turf grasses were utilized for greatest benefit.
