Memorial Garden
Mystic, Connecticut
This small memorial garden was designed as a special place of contemplation where friends and family could visit. It was created by peeling back the lawn-covered slope to expose the stratified bedrock. The excavated area was then augmented with a perimeter wall, seating rocks, weathered boulders, sculpture and plantings. All stone used in the garden came from the surrounding site. The view from the garden’s center encompasses a sheltered marsh, harbor, and distant sea-side village.
